A bright future for the arts in Redding, CA, thanks to a George Winston benefit concert

September 2, 2016

Tuesday night's concert in Redding, California, which was held at the David Marr Theater, featured pianist and composer George Winston. He has released numerous albums of his piano recordings as well as his talent on slack key guitar and harmonica. It was an amazing show, and he played many of the pieces he's well-know for (including "Rain," "Woods" and his arrangement of Pachabel's Canon in D). Not only was the concert awesome but the proceeds will be used to benefit many of the arts programs and venues in Redding - just another step closer to enriching the arts in northern California. Not to mention I got to shake his hand, quickly discovering that Mr. Winston has an incredibly gracious demeanor, and a wonderful sense of humor, in addition to his amazing talent. More details will be available soon on my next blog post (Blogger.com).
